Pool Tip of the Day – Salt Cell System. When was the last time you cleaned yours?

Good morning Gateway and surrounding communities!

Today I’d like to talk about Salt Pools and the proper cleaning techniques. If you have ever experienced flow issues with your chlorinator system or an alarm message with flashing lights, it might be time to acid wash the salt cell on your pool.

Typically, a salt cell should be cleaned every 6 to 12 months, depending on how heavy the demand is on the system to add more chlorine. Waiting too long will reduce the efficiency of your salt cell and over time can lead to premature failure. That can be very expensive. Cleaning the cell is fairly straightforward however you should be very careful when handling muriatic acid!
